2013年5月17日下午,美国内布拉斯加林肯大学Skyros乐队与西安交通大学城市学院学生艺术团举办联欢会。出席本次联欢会的领导有西安交通大学城市学院院长陈光德,党委书记赵金胜,副院长崔杜武,及院长助理徐君陶。莅临本次联欢会的嘉宾有美国内布拉斯加林肯大学音乐系主任约翰·里奇曼,美国内布拉斯加林肯大学艺术系技术服务部经理大卫·巴格比,大提琴演奏家威廉姆·布劳恩,中提琴演奏家贾斯丁·克里斯,第一小提琴詹姆斯·莫特,第二小提琴萨拉·皮齐凯米,以及钢琴演奏家艾普利·孙。此次联欢会由学院中美项目办、院团委主办,院大学生艺术团承办。
此次活动在我院艺术团带来的舞蹈《桃夭》中拉开帷幕,并由我院李伟、周阿蒙同学担任主持,会场座无虚席,掌声此起彼伏。随后,由我院陈光德院长发表致辞,陈院长指出,本次活动是中西方文化交流的良好开端,对我院走向国际化道路,丰富校园文化,加深两校友谊及合作具有重要意义。并对美国内布拉斯加林肯大学Skyros乐队的到来表示热烈的欢迎。
本场音乐会在悠扬的钢琴独奏《户外》中正式开始。我院民乐团也精心演绎具有本土风韵的弦乐四重奏,他们以最流行的音乐演奏方式,将李白诗词改编的《秦桑曲》完美展现。因电影《泰坦尼克号》而享誉世界的名曲《我心永恒》将演奏会推向又一个高潮,无论是萨克斯二重奏的浑厚底蕴,还是歌曲的再度传唱,都让我们深深地感触到音乐的无穷魅力。随后,Skyros乐队也带来了中国乐曲《一根竹竿容易弯》以及《钢琴五重奏》,将同学们的思绪带到林籁泉韵的交响乐圣殿。最后,联欢会在我院阳光合唱团带来的民族韵律十足的曲目《鸿雁》《瑶山夜歌》中落下帷幕。
本次联欢会以艺术活动为载体,促进了我院多元文化氛围的形成,营造了陶冶情操的文化氛围,展现了我院学子的多才多艺、积极向上的精神风貌,更是两校进行文化交流的良好机会,对两校之间的深度合作具有重要意义。
Skyros of UNL and XJTUCC’s Art Troupe: A Meeting of Arts
On May 17th, Skyros, a musical group from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and XJTUCC’s Art Troupe held a performance at XJTUCC. President Chen Guangde, Party Committee Secretary Zhao Jinsheng, Vice President Cui Duwu and President Assistant Xu Juntao, along with UNL’s Director of the School of Music John Richmond, and Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Manager of IT Services David Bagby attended the performance.
After an initial performance of the dance Peach Blossom, President Chen gave a welcome speech. While warmly welcoming UNL guests, he pointed out that this performance was a good opportunity for the exchange between two schools.
Cellist William Braun, Violist Justin Kurys, Violinists James Moat and Sarah Pizzichemi and Pianist April Sun played Out of Doors, Piano Sonata No. 2, A single Bamboo Can Easily Bend and Piano Quintet. XJTUCC’s Art Troupe played a Saxophone Duet of My Heart Will Go On and gave a performance of traditional Chinese musical instruments. The performance ended with a choral rendition of Swan Goose.
This performance provided a channel for students of the two schools to meet and exchange experiences; a meaningful moment that furthers the in-depth cooperation between UNL and XJTUCC.
