2012年10月18日下午，美国内布拉斯加林肯大学（University of Nebraska-Lincoln，简称UNL）校长助理Wilson教授和林肯大学Sohi教授访问西安交大城市学院，城市学院院长陈光德教授在行政楼609贵宾室热情接待了来宾。

    陈光德院长对两校过去五年的密切合作与交流给予了充分肯定，并指出今年城市学院新招的学生整体分数比以往有了很大提高，UNL和城市学院的领导都非常重视这个合作项目。值得一提的是，UNL和城市学院在各自国家所处的地理位置、学校所在城市的文化背景、校园周边的文化氛围等都有很多的相似之处。此外，UNL和西安交通大学目前已经开展了孔子学院、学术科研合作等多领域的合作项目，借助这些优势，城市学院衷心希望可以与UNL进一步增强学院领导互访、教师互访考察，学生学习交流、学生暑期赴美夏令营等不同层次和类型的交流，共同促进更长远更多元的合作。

    Wilson教授谈到目前两校的2+2双学位合作项目已经拓展到包括商科在内的学院全部专业，而且合作项目在学分转换、奖学金申请、项目内学生英文辅导、签证办理等各个方面都日趋完善。他希望下一次来城市学院的时候，能举办一次与项目内学生家长的见面会，双方就学生留学感兴趣的事进行很好地沟通。他热忱欢迎城市学院更多的优秀学子参与到项目中来，真心希望对赴美留学项目感兴趣的家长可以通过宣讲会、西方文化节等活动了解到UNL的更多信息，共同加入到UNL的大家庭上来。

    最后，双方就暑期赴美夏令营活动安排、进一步拓展项目合作形式等问题做了深入的探讨和交流。

              Professor Wilson and Professor Sohi of UNL Visited XJTUCC

       Associate Vice Chancellor Wilson and Professor Sohi of University of Nebraska-Lincoln (hereafter UNL) visited Xi’an Jiaotong University City College in the afternoon of October 18, 2012. Professor and President Chen Guangde met them in the administration building VIP room 609.

       President Chen fully affirmed the close cooperation and exchanges of the two schools over the past five years, and pointed out that students’ overall scores had been greatly improved this year. Both UNL and City College attach great importance to the program. It was worth mentioning that there were a lot of similarities between both sides’ geographic locations, cultural backgrounds and campus cultures.

       In addition, UNL and Xi'an Jiaotong University had carried out cooperation in various areas, such as Confucius Institute, academic and research cooperation. With these advantages, CC sincerely hoped to further enhance exchanges between school leaders, teachers and students, and then jointly promoted a longer-term cooperation.

       Professor Wilson pointed out that PDP program covered all majors, and credit transfer, scholarship application, English tutoring and visa application were being improved. He hoped to see PDP students’ parents next time he came to CC. He warmly welcomed more outstanding students to participate in the program, sincerely hoped that parents who were interested in studying in the U.S. learn more information on UNL through recruitment and western culture festivals activities, and joined UNL.

       Finally, both sides had an in-depth discussion and exchange on summer camp arrangement and program expansion.
